EASY 5-Step Assembly
Make sure if your pinecones are handpicked to bake & debug them prior to assembly. (See below for instructions)
1. Fold the jute in half and tie a slip knot through the card stock tag
2 . Take the ribbon and fold twice equally in an accordion style to form a bow
3. Tie a slip knot In the middle of the ribbon with the jute. Be sure your tag is right in the center.
4. Tie jute around the top of the pinecone so it will hang naturally. We did tie one in the middle (shown in pic) to show different positioning.
5. Once the jute has been tied securely around the pinecone, be sure to bring your ends together tying at the top to allow hanging. (cut to the desired length)
Lastly, tuck the part of the twine that is used to hang the ornament inside the back of the cone. You’re ready to personalize your tag and hang or tie it to a gift!

BAKING YOUR PINECONES – MY FAVORITE PART!
Pinecone scales close up when cold and wet, locking in bugs and dirt. Baking them will open up their scales to release anything trapped and create a nice full-shaped cone.
This is sure to fill your home with the most incredible holiday fragrance and it is 100% all-natural and toxin-free (as long as your pine trees are pesticide-free).
I bake mine at 200-250* for about an hour or two, our cones are the larger size and loaded with sap. The sap will melt and leave an all-natural shine on your cones.
I use an old cookie sheet lined in parchment paper, (they can become brittle if baked too high for too long). Do not leave them unattended, and monitor closely to ensure sap does not leak onto the oven and become a fire hazard. When the sap has melted, take your pan out of the oven remove the parchment paper lined with cones, and place it in an area to cool and dry for a few hours. If you are purchasing pinecones online or at a local craft store most likely they have already been debugged and ready to craft with.
