Vintage Thrifted Finds & Gifts
Here are just a few of my favorite vintage finds from a recent haul. A few vintage items were given to me by family and those I will be keeping. The vintage items I will be selling online on Etsy & my online store. Some of the other items I recently purchased will be upcycled or repurposed in my next couple of videos and those will also be available for purchase soon.
Vintage Dietz Lanterns
My brother gave these beauties and more of his collection to me. They will remain in our family and I’ll be sure to share more of them with you soon.
Dietz lanterns opened in Brooklyn, NY then after a fire moved to Syracuse, NY. Dietz opened in 1840 & closed in 1992 but many of its lanterns still remain in working condition to this day.
I found a lot of information on the history of the company online as well as how to care for your lanterns. I will be researching further to find their age and details about these pieces.
Syracuse China White Ceramic Teapot
I purchased this teapot for $1.99 and I am not sure if I will be keeping this piece for decor or reselling. I ran a google image search but could not find this exact model.
Another vintage find was made in Central NY in Syracuse. Syracuse China opened and was formerly known as Onondaga Pottery which opened in 1871.
Syracuse China was used worldwide in restaurants, airplanes, trains, cruise ships, and

Currier and Ives Blue Winter Bells
Each bell has a nostalgic winter print and sound when rung. I paid .70 cents for each which I thought was a wonderful price.
The information I found online dates them both around 1976. I did find a few listed for sale on various sites including Etsy.com and Ebay.com listed for around $10 each.
Currier and Ives was an NYC print publishing company from 1834 to 1907. For more information on this historic company visit https://www.britannica.com/topic/Currier-and-Ives

Free Printable Vintage Inspired Tags
I recommend printing these vintage-inspired tags onto cardstock for durability.
To create an aged look you can tear the edges of the tags +/or you can brush on watered-down antiquing wax, paint, or coffee/tea to the edges.

I printed this image onto rice paper using my inkjet printer. I applied it to a “vintage-inspired” washboard. Then I attached a basket to the washboard.

This next set of printables I used to makeover a set of thrifted coasters. I reversed the graphics and printed them out on freezer paper using my inkjet printer. Then using a plastic scraper I rubbed the backside of the paper which allowed the printer ink to adhere to the coaster.
This set of printables is available in a transparent background (great for waterslide decals, too) and one set is blue on a white background.
