I will be posting – MORE Ways to Boost Your Sales (part 2) soon!
Team up With Other Vendors to Increase Antique Booth Sales
Team up to drive more traffic, attention & ultimately more “sales” in multiple booths & storewide!
SUPPORT each other!
By thinking of fellow antique booth owners as “team” members, instead of competitors, we can experience the positive benefits of working together.
COLLABORATE with other vendors
Collaboration- two or more people or organizations working together to complete a task or achieve a goal.
Host an EVENT together
Let’s look at a few collaboration ideas that can be done with two or more vendors!
- Hosting a “live sale” together featuring a mix of both of your products
Tips: Pick the items out ahead of time, attach a number to each item & write that number on a sheet of paper along with the name of the item. Once someone “claims” the item write their name next to the number/name on the paper. Leave space on the page to write their email address, document when you email their invoice to pay, once they’ve paid, and finally, once the item has been picked up (or shipped). - Hosting a “demonstration” event together
Depending on your niches you could craft or paint an item together or create any “how-to” demo. If you sell books you could team up with someone who sells sweet treats or coffee and host a story hour together. - Host a “contest” together on social media
You can set up rules to have people like, share & comment on both of your business pages and then split the prize (product or gift certificate) that will be given to one random participant. - Schedule a “vignette set-up” event in each other’s booth
This idea hosts a few great benefits, if promoted properly, and gives your booth a fresh new look! Plus, you have a chance to see someone else’s perspective & possibly learn something new that you’d like to incorporate in your future displays.
What a fun way to help bring in customers and drive them right to both of your booths!
This event offers a perfect opportunity to make an exciting photo, reel/story, or live video for social media ads to promote your businesses.
CROSS PROMOTE by swapping products
Cross-promote your products by swapping a few items with another vendor & placing them in your booth for sale. This is an easy way to refresh your displays, promote other vendors, and put new eyes on your products by placing them in their booths. Sometimes just having your products in a different spot +/or displayed differently in the store can boost sales.
This is a helpful tip if you are having trouble restocking & need to refill your booth right away. Many vendors have a lot of backstock of inventory in storage that they are more than happy to display in your booth.
Example: a vendor that sells plants connecting with a vendor who sells vintage flowerpots or plant stands and placing items in each other’s booth for sale.
SHARING business signage
If you don’t have the space, your niches don’t complement each other, OR you do not have extra products to exchange then you can try swapping a small “eye-catching” business sign with another vendor.
Don’t forget to add the “location” of their booth so that customers can find it easily.
Easy Networking Tip: Share & swap advertisements with other vendors via social media
NETWORKING and trading services
What a great opportunity to discuss what items, trends, and colors are “hot sellers.”
Be open to brainstorming ideas, collab planning, or troubleshooting challenges with fellow vendors.
Trading services can be a huge help & stress reliever to both parties.
Asking other vendors what areas they find most challenging & which tasks are their favorite is a great conversation starter. One vendor might rock at designing business cards & you might rock at setting up displays so a “trade-off” may be beneficial to both parties.
Be outgoing & approachable by striking up conversations with other vendors
To purchase my favorite go-to paint, sealer & supplies by DIXIE BELLE you can order from Gail @ The HIVE located in the State Street Market and she will ship your order directly to you! If you do not have Facebook you can email Gail at [email protected]
Now that we looked at ways you can team up with fellow vendors, let’s look at ways we can work with your mall/market shop owner.
TEAM UP with the antique mall shop owner
As a vendor, your #1 resource for growing your antique booth sales is the Market/Mall owner. They want nothing more than for you to be successful and sell a ton of merchandise because it keeps them in business, too!
Check out the amazing MULTI VENDOR MARKET @ State Street Market Facebook page for many exciting daily updates & vendor restocks!
SCHEDULE an appointment with the owner/manager
Be open to brainstorming ideas, scheduling an event, or even troubleshooting challenges.
- Ask & book an appointment for a booth inspection
The owner/manager may be able to offer suggestions for product staging, pricing & other ideas to help you grow - Find out what the current selling trends/products are
No one knows better about what sells better than the owner & their checkout staff
They may even have a current customer wish list to share with you - Ask the store owner if having storewide Live Sales is an option & how you can be a part of them
Be sure to share the advertisements for the Vendor Mall/Market where you sell your wares, as it benefits everyone!
VENDOR support ideas for store owners
- Offering a vendor page on social media
This is a great way to keep open communication, share ideas with the owner & fellow vendors, and brainstorm about upcoming sales and events at the Market - Sending bi-weekly emails with business updates, suggestions for vendors along with a best-selling items list. Encouraging vendors to restock their booths often & talk with customers while they are in-store, as that increases sales.
- Hosts & advertises community events to help bring in new & returning customers while supporting their community
- Advertising vendor booth updates
Customers love to hear updated vendor booth restocks & booth sales via social media and with in-store announcements. This poses a wonderful opportunity for all vendors to like, comment & share to help boost the views & grow the shop page.
HELPFUL TIP: Make your own social posts when you restock your booth & tag the shops’ page for a higher engagement opportunity.
